Both of them are not available. Non-importable items would be ignored without any logs.

Thanks for your information about vBGallery 2.3

    Hi :)
I have two problems with vBGallery importer (vBulletin 4)
Import log table name: ? What is?
Table prefix vBGallery: ppgal or ppgal_ or vbppgal or vbppgal_ ?
    Thanks....

The name of table that you store logs after import from vB to XF (after import, XF asked you to save it). Without this, importer cannot work.

vBGallery uses vB prefix so enter your vB prefix, if you did not use prefix then just leave it empty.

Sonnb, I know that you are planning on doing something with non-image types in a future version. If when that happens, would you change the importer to do two passes, one for photos and another for everything else, or would you still have it as one pass.

Where I am going with that question...

I have a fairly large vBGallery collection that I will be bringing it into XenGallery. What I am wondering is if I import the photos now would then be able to import just the remaining stuff that was ignored the first time or would I have to worry about having the photos that were already imported the first time imported again as a duplicate? Do you think I'd be OK importing just the photos now or do you recommend I wait?

What kind of files that you want to support? I only plan to support video files, not everything.

Below is a screen grab from the old database. What I would really love to see for the importers is that if the file type is not supported by XenGallery, and is ignored during the import, then instead that the file could be imported into the forums as a thread with the file attached to it with any comments imported as posts in the thread. That way I could bring in all of the content from the old gallery without losing anything. I know, that is asking a lot but I think it would make people pretty happy that nothing gets lost when they convert to XF.

At least for me personally I know I'd be willing to pay for that type of importer above & beyond the cost of XenGallery itself to help offset the cost of development.

If anybody is interested in the query to generate it, try the query below.
    Code:
    select extension, count(*)
    from `ppgal_images`
    group by extension
    vBGallery File Types.PNG

Unfortunately, XenGallery only support images and videos is planned. Have no plan for zip, txt or music files. Import them into threads is out of scope of this addon.

But I could do a custom works for you to import non-images into threads. Comments become posts, files become attachments.

If you've got some ideas in mind, feel free to send me a PC with a estimated cost. :) Maybe we can work something out where others could get some use out of it as well.

How long did you wait? It might take awhile due to resizing photos progress.

We have just imported gallery from vb, and I have found a little confusion between albums and categories.

The former carerories are shown in Albums in the admin and former Albums are listed as categories...
On the users side there are 400 something categories which is impossible to load from the menu.

But if I see my own gallery page it seems that only the albums are listed there.

    I do not understand it.
Please help! How can I change them back?

    Hello NaNa,

XenGallery works different ways compare to vBGallery. Your vb uses categories as place where users upload photos while XenGallery use albums to personalize user's photos.

    - vb's Categories which do not contain photos would be converted as XenGallery's categories.
    - vb's Categories which contain user's photos would be converted as XenGallery's public albums (allow other users to upload to that album).

It looks good. Yes, they belong to categories which they were belong to in vB.
