Help Top Videos Widget Is Broken After Upgrade

Hey @sonnb ,

I just upgraded the the latest XenGallery, all seemed fine.

Then I started playing with XFRocks' BD Image as I wanted to add another slider that pulled images from threads, as well as the gallery.

I had it set up so there was two carousel widgets (BD Widget), one for recent photos from the gallery, one for recent videos. It looked like this

Then I accidentally opened the video widget and clicked save, and it's now changed to another format. I'm not sure if the latest video widget was overwritten with the Gallery Upgrade, or perhaps the BD image install.

Can you please advise how I can fix?

I think the renderer is broken for this wedget on the latest xengallery.

On an old install it gives me all these options:

After upgrading it only show me this on my live site:

It's missing all the carousel optins.

I tried exporting the widget from a local install, but when I import it to my live site it's still missing all the options. So perhaps theres an issue with the renderer?

Sorry for very late reply RobinHood,

You might want to disable the wrapper. It is a checkbox which I do not see on your screenshot.

It's weird, for the Top Albums and Top Photos renderer, there's tons of options:

Edit Widget
Title:You may use HTML.
The title will display above the widget contents where applicable.

Renderer:
Choose a renderer for this widget and configure its contents.

Fetching Options:
Limit:
Limit number of items would be shown.

(Optional) Category:
Only show items within selected category.

Collection:
Only show item within selected collection.

Likes:
Only show items with more than x likes.

Views:
Only show items with more than x views.

Comments:
Only show items with more than x comments.

User IDs:
Only show items that posted by selected user ids.

Separate IDs by commas.

Thumbnail Size:
Thumbnail Width:
Width of item's thumbnail in widget.

Thumbnail Height:
Height of item's thumbnail in widget.

Title Limit:
Wrap album's title at specified length to prevent long titles run out of box.

Enable Slider:

Ticker mode

Slideshow mode

Vertical mode

Single mode (One item per slide)

Hide Author Information

Do not show author and counter information. Just show the title.

Hide Title

Hide content title in widget.

Disable Widget's Wrapper

Cache TTL
This renderer supports caching for improved performance, you can enter the number of seconds for time to live (TTL) value to suit your need. Leave it blank to let the renderer decide the TTL itself. Enter 0 will effectively disable caching.

Position:
There are three types of positions:
- Use "all" position will make the widget show up in the sidebar of all pages.
- Or enter template title of the target page. Popular templates: forum_list (the index page), forum_view (the individual forum page), thread_view (the thread page).
- Or enter hook position in the format of "hook:hook_name" to render the widget directly to the hook. For example: "hookage_container_content_top" will make the widget visible at the top of the page, on every page.

Create New Group

Display Order:
The position of this widget relative to other widgets in the same position.

Conditional
Enter widget conditionals to control when the widget is shown. The syntax is similar to template conditional for <xen:if /> tag. You can also use Layout Editor to learn which variables are available in which positions. Some commonly used conditionals:

{$visitor.user_id} > 0 (show up for logged in users only)

{xen:helper ismemberof, $visitor, 3} (show up for users of user group #3 only, which is the admin group)

It was after upgrading XG in December that the Top Video widget broke, it used to have all those options too, now it only has this:

It's as if the render got replaced with an old version perhaps?

I tried to export a previously working widget from a local install, then import it, but that didn't seem to help.

Instead of the nice carousel it's just a blocky list of all the videos

It means the Widget FW cannot load the configuration of the XenGallery which also mean your configuration is not working. Did you upgrade the Widget Framework?
