    is there a demo, where I can play around with the configuration in order to see whether it suits my needs?

    Unfortunately there isn't a demo.
    What you see here is what you will get.

    What I would like to have is:
    In Category View all pictures at the same size and without the information below the images (maybe just the name of the SubCategory/Album) ?

    I find the diferent sizes of the images (and thumbnails) confusing ...
