What Happens When Xf 2.0 Is Out?

    As you might know that the first preview version of XF 2.0 is now available for general public testing. Since XF 2.0 is promised to be changed a lot in the core that requires as well, lot of changes in the XenGallery add-on.

    It is not possible to develop both version, 1 for XF 1.x and one for XF 2.x in parallel. Therefore, I would like to let you know that.

    1. I will keep maintain 2 version of XenGallery for both XF versions. XenGallery 2.x for XF 1.x and XenGallery 3.x for XF 2.x
    2. Once XenGallery 3.x is out, the XenGallery 2.x is mainly for bug fixes. New features are not targeted for this version.
    3. I will start working on the new version once the developer preview of XF 2.x is available.

    I find that is okay. Just don't forget one of the ancient things about XenGallery for quite a long time now, the image contests. That feature needs to come at once what better place for it than XF 2.0? :D

    Any news on any more updates Son? Been 3 months since the last release.

    XF2.0 is on a slow and steady track, it's going to be months until the end of public beta's and many more months until many large sites are anywhere near ready to migrate to 2.0. I imagine won't be updating one of my sites the really really utilises the gallery for another year as it depends on so many other add ons.

    It would be great to see some of the suggestions implemented for the XF1.0 version.

    How near to completion is the conversion of XenGallery to an XF2 add on?
